Riding on the back of revival of the Indian economy, Logi-Sys, the
web-based, end-to-end, modular, scalable, ERP software for Freight
Forwarders & NVOCC from Softlink Logistic Systems Pvt. Ltd. has
started gaining more traction in the logistics market.
"We were a little skeptical about launching the
solution in the middle of the downturn. However, we went ahead with the
decision because we were confident that the logistics industry would
eventually increase its IT spending," explains Amit Maheshwari, CEO,
Softlink Logistic Systems Pvt. Ltd.
There are more fundamental reasons for the increase in
market traction. Logistics companies have withheld their IT spending
for a long time now. IT adoption had just picked up when the global
downturn hit the industry.
With recovery now in sight, logistics firms are now
worried that the downturn would have caused a serious setback to their
IT plans. This has ensured that they are now on the look out for better
systems that will give them an edge over the competition.

21-Sep-2009 : Softlink extends survey deadline
|

Looking at the overwhelming response received to the online survey it had put up, Softlink Logistic Systems Pvt. Ltd. has now decided to extend the deadline for the survey by another week.
The survey is an attempt by the company to get a better understanding of the IT spending habits of the logistics community in India. It also tries to find the key drivers that have been acting as the motivating factor behind the increasing adoption of logistics IT systems.
"We decided to move away from the traditional approach of outsourcing such surveys. Moreover, we decided to stress upon an online survey because we were also interested in seeing how well the logistics fraternity responds to this new medium," says Amit Maheshwari, CEO Softlink Logistic Systems Pvt. Ltd.
The survey will now be available online till 30th September, 2009.
Once the survey is complete, the company will prepare a comprehensive report highlighting its findings. The report will be freely available for public consumption on request.

The Federation of Freight Forwarders Associations in India (FFFAI), has formally approved the institution of the "Softlink-FFFAI Awards for Excellence and Innovation in Logistics".
The awards, to be jointly promoted by Softlink Logistic Systems Pvt. Ltd. And FFFAI, will recognise outstanding implementation of IT in achieving Excellence and Innovation by Freight Forwarders and CHAs in India.
The Softlink-FFFAI Awards for Excellence and Innovation in Logistics will be awarded on an annual basis.
Established in 1963, FFFAI is the apex industry association for Freight Forwarders and CHAs in India. It is a forum for Freight Forwarders and CHAs to exchange ideas and views to develop and meet their requirements. Its member associations consist of 22 CHA associations from various cities and ports in India
